0:04 · Start your day from Dashboard
Let's start a working day in Carvio. We'll use the Dashboard to find today's work, review the dealership overview, and follow notifications to the right task or customer conversation. Alex Morgan, Casey Lee, Jordan Taylor and the vehicles in this lesson are fictional training examples.
We'll finish a vehicle preparation task, check the saved result, and manage its notification separately. Then we'll review unread activity, older notifications, bulk read actions and recovery when something fails.
Use the chapters to jump to the task you need. The written guides include the steps and expected results, so you can use them without watching the whole lesson.
0:47 · Open Dashboard and understand access
Choose Dashboard in the main navigation. This is the home overview. Your staff access determines whether you can open it; the sections available to you also depend on your dealership's features and your permissions for that work.
Dashboard itself is shared across products. Here is an example with Lead features available: appointments and lead summaries are visible, while inventory and sales summaries are absent. You do not need to change a plan simply to use the shared home page.
If Dashboard is missing, check that you are signed in to the right dealership. Ask the person who manages staff access to check your Dashboard permission. A colleague's screen may include sections and actions that your account cannot use.
1:33 · Move between workspaces
The main navigation groups your work. Expand Leads for All leads, Assignment requests and Lost-lead recovery. Tasks includes All tasks, Escalated and Task analytics. Appointments includes Schedule and Unresolved. Calendar is a separate destination.
Use the arrow beside a group to reveal its destinations, then select the page you need. Dashboard returns you to this overview. Inventory, people and insight destinations are listed in the same navigation when your access allows them.
The collapse control beside the dealership name gives you more room for the current workspace. Expand the navigation again to read its labels. On a phone, open the navigation menu first, then choose Dashboard or the destination you need.
2:22 · Use Create and your account menu
The Create menu gives you shortcuts to the actions available to your account. It can include Create Lead, Create Task, Create reminder and Create appointment. A reminder is a nudge at a set time; an appointment is a customer event at a fixed time. Choose the action that matches the work, then complete its form.
Send message opens the message composer. Opening it does not send anything. Use the Inbox guides for selecting a recipient, checking the channel and confirming delivery. We are not sending a customer message in this lesson.
Open your user menu at the bottom of the navigation for Profile, Settings, Switch theme and Logout. Check the account name before changing dealership information. Switching theme changes your viewing preference; it does not change the status of a task or notification.
3:14 · Find a page or record with Search
Choose Search or jump to at the top of the app. On a Mac, you can use Command K; on Windows, use Control K. The search opens with quick actions and recent results when available.
Enter a useful name or identifying detail. Here we search for Jordan. Check the result's name and type before opening it. Use a category to narrow the results when the same words appear in several places. Search can include leads, inventory, tasks, appointments, people, vendors, settings and commands, depending on your access.
Use the arrow keys to move through results and Enter to open the highlighted result. Tab switches result type. Escape closes search. Opening a result takes you to that page or record; it does not submit a form or send a message.
4:04 · Search settings and recover a missing result
You can search for a setting by the words you use at the dealership. For example, search working hours and open the matching Settings result. Read its description to confirm that it is the setting you intend to change.
If there are no matches, check the spelling, try a shorter name or a stock number, and switch back to All results. Wait for the search to finish before deciding the record is missing. Try the feature's own list and filters as well.
Search only shows the work available to your account. No result is not proof that a customer or vehicle was deleted. If a known record still cannot be found, check your dealership and staff access before creating another record.
4:49 · Read Today’s tasks and appointments
Start with Today and check the date in its header. The Tasks section shows open work that is overdue or due today. Each row shows the title, a priority indicator, a due label and the assigned person when available.
Overdue and Today are counts of the matching work, not extra tasks to add together. A task due earlier today can belong to both groups and still appear only once in the list. The overview shows a limited number of rows, so choose View all beside Tasks for the full workspace.
Appointments shows today's scheduled visits with their time, title, type and customer when linked. Check both sections: finishing a preparation task does not complete the customer's appointment.
5:34 · Open a task before completing it
Choose a task title to inspect the work. Here we open Check both keys for Casey. The task drawer shows its current status, owner, dates, description and any linked records. Use those details to confirm what is actually required.
Review any checklist, subtasks or dependencies before calling the work complete. A dependency is other work that must be dealt with before this task can finish. Use the full Tasks guide when you need to edit the task, add a note or resolve a blocker.
Close the drawer when you are ready to return. Choose Dashboard in the main navigation to return to Today. Opening a task is a review action; it does not complete it.
6:17 · Complete a Today task and verify the result
Once both keys have actually been checked, use the completion circle beside Check both keys for Casey. Keep the title and completion control separate: the title opens the task; the circle changes its status.
Wait for Task completed. The finished task leaves the open Today list and the counts update. The safety inspection and Casey's remaining preparation work are still visible. This shows what changed and what still needs doing.
To verify or correct a completion, open the task from the Tasks workspace, include completed work when necessary, and review its status. Use the task's reopen action if it was completed by mistake. Do not mark unrelated tasks complete to clear the Dashboard.
7:03 · Open the schedule and a day’s work
Choose View all beside Appointments to open Schedule. Use the appointment's date, time, assigned person and customer to confirm which visit you are preparing for. The Appointments guide covers changes, preparation tasks, reminders and recording the outcome.
The appointment row in Today currently takes you to Tasks instead of opening the visit. To review the appointment itself, use View all beside Appointments, or expand Appointments in the navigation and choose Schedule.
Calendar is another shared entry when it is available. Check the displayed date and select the event there to review it. If a shortcut cannot open with your access, return to Schedule. A reminder or a Dashboard row does not confirm that the customer has arrived or the visit is complete.
7:53 · Assign a waiting lead from Dashboard
Unassigned leads shows active enquiries waiting for an owner. Check the person's name and source, then choose Assign beside the right enquiry. Search for an eligible teammate if the list is long.
Here we select Jamie Chen for Robin Patel. After the update succeeds, Robin leaves this unassigned queue. Verify the owner in the lead record if you need to confirm the handover. Assignment gives the work an owner; it does not answer the customer.
View all opens Leads with the unassigned view selected. The waiting count can be larger than the few rows shown on Dashboard. If assignment fails or the intended teammate is unavailable, keep the lead in view, check your access and use the Leads guide to resolve the handover.
8:40 · Review the lead funnel and lost leads
The Lead funnel is a snapshot of the stages shown now: New, Contacted, Qualified, Negotiation and Won. It helps you see where work is sitting. It is not a conversion rate or a record of one group moving through every stage.
Choose View all to open Leads when you need to inspect individual enquiries. That opens the lead list; selecting a bar in this summary does not apply a stage filter. Use the filters in Leads to narrow the list.
Lost leads covers the last thirty days and shows the recorded reasons. Unspecified means no reason is recorded for that group. A reason count does not explain every individual customer outcome. Open Leads and review the record, or use Lost-lead recovery when an enquiry should be worked again. Check each panel's period and scope before comparing counts.
9:33 · Read sales summaries and comparisons
The top figures give you an overview: Total inventory, Total sold, Sales this month and Avg days in stock, when your access includes them. Total inventory is the in-stock overview. Total sold is the overall unit count shown here. Sales this month is gross sales revenue, not profit.
Avg days in stock describes stock age. Although the small caption says time to sell, do not read it as the time taken by vehicles already sold. Open the inventory list when you need the age of a particular unit.
Scroll down to Sales revenue. The chart shows the last six months against the same months in the previous year. Read the This year and Last year legend and compare the displayed periods. Top sales reps beside it shows units sold over the last six months. These panels do not offer their own date filter. Use Reports for a different period or a detailed export.
10:30 · Open vehicles from the inventory snapshots
New inventory shows recently acquired in-stock vehicles. Aging inventory brings the longest-held in-stock units to the top. Read the stock number as well as the year, make and model so you select the right vehicle.
Each row includes the listing price and either days in stock or a delivery date. Upcoming deliveries shows in-progress vehicles with a scheduled delivery ahead. A scheduled date is not confirmation that delivery is finished.
Choose the Civic with stock number DEMO zero six one to open its current vehicle details. Check the header, stock number and lifecycle stage before making changes. View all from any of these inventory panels opens the inventory workspace. Apply the state, date or other filter you need there; the Dashboard link does not promise a prefiltered aging or delivery list.
11:23 · Review a Needs attention finding
When a finding is available to you, a Needs attention banner can appear above Today. Read its named person, visible evidence and proposed action. This is separate from the notification bell.
Choose Open finding to review the details without leaving Dashboard. In this example, the drawer shows Alex's workload, the other representatives and the recommended handover. Review those details before taking any action. Opening the drawer does not reassign leads.
Use an offered action only when it matches the change you intend to make, then follow its review and confirmation. You can close the drawer to leave the records as they are. If it says Nothing more to show, the finding may no longer be available; close it and refresh before relying on the older banner.
12:14 · Open Notifications and read the badge
The notification bell is at the top of the app. A red badge means the recent queue contains items marked as needing attention. The count is the number of those items, not every unread notification in your history.
A blue badge means new activity is waiting without items in that attention queue. With nothing new, there is no badge. Larger counts may appear as ninety-nine plus. Use the labels and notification text as well as colour.
Open the bell. Needs action normally opens first when there are items in that queue; otherwise Activity opens. An urgent alert may make a sound when your browser allows it, but do not rely on sound to track work. A quiet browser or an empty queue does not prove that every customer has been answered.
13:03 · Follow a notification to the right work
In Needs action, read the name, age or urgency label, and the message before following the action. Respond and Reply open the customer conversation. View task opens the task. Appointment notifications can open their appointment through the work area. The available action depends on the notification type.
Here Reply opens Jordan's Inbox conversation. Read the message and confirm the recipient and channel before composing a response. Merely opening this conversation has not replied to Jordan. Use the Inbox guide for sending and checking a message.
Opening a linked notification marks that notification as read. It does not complete its task or appointment, and it does not mark every related notification read. In our task example, the saved task shows Completed because we finished it earlier, not because we opened its alert. An informational notification may have no link, for example a declined assignment request.
14:05 · Review Activity and unread filtering
Choose Activity to review updates such as appointment reminders, task assignments, ready-to-start work and assignment decisions. Read notifications can appear here too, including an attention item you have already opened or marked read.
The small unread indicator helps distinguish new activity from an item already read. Turn on Only show unread to narrow Activity to unread items. Needs action already contains unread attention items. Switching tabs or turning on a filter does not mark anything read.
Turn the filter off when you want to find a previously read item. The bell panel is a recent view, so use View all notifications for older history. If the digest at the top says something needs a reply, you can use it to return to Needs action.
14:55 · Mark read, undo and restore unread
Use the round control at the left of a notification to change its read state without opening the linked work. Its accessible label is Mark as read for an unread item. In Needs action, marking read removes the item from that queue and changes the badge.
If that was a mistake, choose Undo in the short-lived toast. The item returns to unread. Undo may close the bell panel; open it again to verify the restored item.
You can also find a read item in Activity or the full history and use its Mark as unread control. On the history page, switch All and Unread to refresh the list and confirm the saved change. Marking unread is a reminder for your own review, not a task assignment, a new customer message or a renewed response deadline. The underlying record still needs its own action.
15:47 · Find older notifications and use pages
Choose View all notifications at the bottom of the bell panel. The Notifications page gives you the full history available to this account, with All and Unread filters and date groups such as Today and Yesterday.
Choose Unread to focus on notifications not yet read. Choose All to find something you already opened. Read and unread controls still work on individual rows, and the action link still opens the associated work when one is available.
When history spans more than one page, use Next or Previous. You can enter a page number in Go to page and press Enter, or leave the field to apply it. Check Page one of two, or the displayed page count, to confirm where you are. Changing the All or Unread filter returns you to the start of that filtered history. Notifications does not have a record-name search box; use the original feature's search if you need to find the customer or task itself.
16:44 · Mark all notifications read safely
Choose Mark all read only after deciding that you want to clear the unread state across your whole notification history. It affects more than the visible rows, the selected page or the current tab. It does not finish the associated work.
Read the confirmation and the unread count. If you just changed individual items on the history page, switch All and Unread first to refresh that count. Choose Cancel to leave the unread states unchanged. When there are more than fifty unread notifications, type the exact count shown to enable the confirmation. Here the separate large-history example asks for seventy.
Confirm Mark all read when that is the action you intend. There is no bulk Undo. The records stay in All history, and you can mark an individual item unread again. Check the Unread view for the saved result. If the bell still shows an older count after a history-page change, open the bell again to refresh its view before relying on the badge.
17:46 · Reach Home and Notifications on a phone
On a phone, open the main navigation menu and choose Dashboard. If the menu remains open, tap outside it to return to the page. Use the same date, title and stock-number checks before acting. To open another workspace, return to the navigation menu and select its destination.
Tap the bell to open Notifications. Choose Needs action or Activity, read the item, then use its action or read-state control. Use Back at the top of Notifications to return to your current workspace without acting on an item.
View all notifications opens the full history, where All, Unread and the page controls work the same way. If a record cannot be opened with your access, go to its available workspace instead and ask your administrator to check the permission. Do not create a duplicate record just because a shortcut did not open.
18:42 · Recover from loading and save problems
If Today says Couldn't load this list, choose Try again. Keep the date and expected work in mind while it reloads. A failed request is not confirmation that there is no work due. If a summary looks unexpectedly empty, open its full workspace and check the filters and your access.
If task completion fails, the task should remain in the open list. Read the error, confirm the work is finished, then retry and wait for Task completed. Do not assume the first click saved.
If a notification read change fails, check that the item and count return to their previous state, then retry. If the notification history cannot load, use Retry on that page. The bell panel does not offer the same error screen, so use View all notifications or reopen the panel to check again. Refresh the app only after protecting any unsaved work in another open form.
A queue-clear or no-unread message describes the selected notification view. It does not mean every task is complete or every customer has a reply. Return to the task, appointment or conversation whenever you need to confirm the actual work.
19:54 · Confirm the work and choose the next action
Let's finish with a clear result. Casey's key-check task is completed and no longer appears in the open Today list. Its notification is read. The remaining preparation task and the scheduled visit are still work to review; neither was completed by clearing an alert.
Jordan's conversation still needs an actual response. Use the notification action or Inbox to review it, then follow the message workflow. Read state helps you organize attention; the saved task status and conversation history tell you what has actually happened.
Use Dashboard for the overview, the feature workspace for the full record, and Notifications to reach the work that needs your attention. The related Tasks, Appointments, Leads, Inbox, Inventory and Reports guides explain the detailed follow-on actions.
